Beautiful and sunny

Today was amazing. It was sunny and 45 degrees. Thats pretty good for Anchorage. Unfortunately Nick had to stay home and work on some university stuff, but I wanted to go out and get used to my bike. I took the bike trail north to Birchwood and it was beautiful. There were a lot of people out and everybody enjoyed the sun. Here is a pic of Anchorage taken at 5 o'clock.

Last Ski Day?

Today, Brook and I went to Powerline Pass and and enjoyed the snow. We can;t do anything about the weather anyways, so you might as well enjoy it. We took our x country skies and headed up the Powerline Pass. It was incredible how many people were there, but not many (actually none) went far back. So it was nice to have the track for ourselves. It was a wonderful, sunny day.
Nick got me a heart rate monitor the other day and I was so excited to try it out on a longer workout. It was really cool, cause at the end it tells you how many calories you burned and how high your heart rate was. I really like it.
Here are 2 pics from today. The sun was so bright, that my little g3 camera had problems taking good pictures ('cause it is not me that can't take pictures, hahaha)

my new skirts

This last weekend I finally had the time to get out the sewing machine again. I always wanted to make a skirt that fits me perfectly. Instead of buying a pattern I found heloful websites that explain how to make your own pattern with your measurements. that way it fits you and just you. This last weekend I made an orange one with a zipper. That took me quite a while, since I never sewed a zipper onto skirts or pants.
And yesterday I made a wrap around skirt that was really easy and is very comfy.
Here is the website that explains how to make that wrap around skirt. Very, very helpful.
