the S&M bike
well... weather and road conditions have gotten to the point where it is dangerous to, not only drive, but also ride without studded tires. so last night i broke down and shelled out the cash for the studded tires. they look hilarious. mad says my bike looks like an s&m bike now. it does look funny. i think that it looks really mean... like what a harley guy would ride if he got his license taken away for drunk driving. ;)

I have signed up for another quilting class. It start this coming monday, but I could not wait to get the fabric and start on my own. I am sure i should have waited, but I am thinking i am going to buy new fabric and make another one. These are so much fun. They are called one block wonders or kaleidoscope quilts, cause you only need one fabric and you can make a wonderful, fun quilt top. This technique is really cool cause it lets you play with the design so much and you have hundreds of options to design it.
I can not wait to see the whole thing come together. And of course, I had to take a photo of Davy, he is also designing the quilt by leaving his cat hair on the fabric

what a weekend

This past weekend was pretty fun and I got a lot done. On saturday I worked on some sewing projects and Mr. Davy decided to "help" me. well, he looks more like a keg with four little paws.
On sunday Amy invited me to go to Bird creek and do some scarf dying. A lady that has a cbin in the woods does it for groups and she had seven different organic dyes there. It was so much fun and all the scarfs came out really nice and different.

And on monday my lovely husband surprised me with a german dinner. Haaaaa

the first quilt block from class
On thursday in class we were able to put the first block together. it was the first time that we could see all the colors arranged together. It was really fun. My quilt is going to be very colorful and ,ost of the ladies there were not sure about the brightness and combination, but when they saw the block.... they were surprised how much they liked it. so here it is.

state fair animals and Davy

We went to the Alaska State Fair a couple of days ago and enjoyed the exhibits they had there. There were lots of farm animals and plants, they also had a quilt exhibition, which I really liked. They had some quilts there that took four years to make. WOW.
Here are pics of an Alpaca (with an under bite) , I baby goat with a sweater and Mr. Davy being all dreamy and sleepy
.

sewing, sewing, sewing
I had my first quilting class yesterday. Brook and I decided to take a beginner one "from start to finish" and I already learned a lot.
Nick was also so kind to go table shopping with me this weekend. I wanted a sewing, computer table so I can have my sewing stuff all in one place and dont have to move it all the time. Look how amazing it is. I am so excited and ready to get some sewing done. I already worked with the new set up and it is super cool. Here are some pics, building the table IKEA style.
